We drive 3 hours to harvest bamboo growing on the Big Island. We know the owner's of the property that we harvest from, and always stop by to ask permission before we do so. We notice other people harvest too, so we only take what we need, and make sure to keep the area safe by not leaving sharp angles when we cut. We avoid stepping on keiki plants and take our opala (trash) with us before we leave.
